Theme Shack
Pioneers
Things are changing rapidly on the internet. The evolution
and the changing of the guard has begun.
The usual places that people download desktop enhancements
from are now exposed. The technology for revealing virus and
file wrapping now shows what people have been actually
downloading for years; virus', spyware, installed programs
and many other nasty files every time they downloaded a so
called free desktop enhancement. Did you know that every
time you download this stuff that they get paid money from
the sponsors for infesting your computer with advertisements
and pop-ups? The consumer is becoming aware that free is not
really free at all. It carries a huge price tag.
Theme Shack has started a new trend as well as direction.
The system that was used by others is no longer viable nor
competitive. The top notch authors on the net have banned
together at Theme Shack and will no longer publish files at
these so called free sites. Most of them are alarmed and
experiencing a great loss of downloads and revenue that they
generated at the expense of the creators of these files.
All files created by Theme Shack authors are virus free and
consumer safe. We have established ourselves as a major
download center that compete with these former major players
in just one year. We also have the top notch authors and
best productions. If you would like this safe environment to
continue please support Theme Shack. Many new and exciting
developments are on the way.

PS3 Pandemonium |
|
|
| Die hard gamers camped out for days in frigid
Minnesota temps to be first in line to get the new Play Station 3,
which is now dubbed The Pandemonium Station 3. Retailers were
limited to the number of stations they received, some serious gamers
paid as much as $15,000 on E-Bay and with the limited number of
games being offered, one has to ask the question....Is it really
worth all the hype? |

RECIPE OF THE MONTH
We've got three great recipes this month, just in time
for the holidays.
|
 |
Bittersweet Chocolate Torte
contributed by Deana Luper |
6 Tbl butter or margarine
4 oz unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup sugar-free apricot preserves or spreadable apricot fruit
2 tsp instant coffee crystals
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups Equal or 36 Equal packets
3 egg whites
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 c all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 oz semi-sweet chocolate
1 Tbl butter or margarine |
|
For Torte: heat 6 Tbls butter, 4 oz.
unsweetened chocolate, milk, preserves and coffee crystals in
small saucepan, whisking until chocolate is almost melted.
Remove pan from heat; continue whisking until chocolate is
melted and mixture is smooth. Whisk in egg yolk and vanilla; add
Equal, whisking until smooth.
Lightly grease bottom of 8-inch round cake pan and line with
parchment paper or wax paper. Beat egg whites and cream of
tartar to stiff peaks in large bowl. Fold chocolate mixture into
egg whites; fold in combined flour and salt. Pour cake batter
into pan.
Bake in preheated 350ºF oven for 20-25 minutes or until
toothpick is inserted in centre and comes out clean. DO NOT
OVERBAKE. Carefully loosen side of cake from pan with small
share knife, which will keep cake from cracking as it cools.
Cool completely in pan on wire rack; refrigerate 1-2 hours or
until chilled.
For Chocolate Glaze: melt 1 oz. semi-sweet
chocolate and 1 Tbl butter in small saucepan, stirring
frequently.
Remove cake from pan and place on serving plate. Pour Chocolate
Glaze over top of cake, letting it run down sides. Let cake
stand about 1 hour or until glaze is set.

Baked
Stuffing
contributed
by Mary |
|
First, preheat your oven to 350deg. and
LIBERALLY spray a casserole dish with no stick spray (very
important, this stuff sticks like glue if the casserole dish
is not well oiled). Fill the dish about 3/4 full with
chunks of bread crusts or just plain bread, buns, or
whatever you have (I always save my bread crusts in a bag in
the freezer so I always have lots on hand). Grate about 1
cup of cheese, whichever type you like best, I always use
cheddar, mix about 3/4 of the cheese into the bread chunks.
Then sauté about 1 cup of fresh mushrooms (or 1 can) and
about 1/2 cup of diced onion 'til they're golden brown and
mix them in with the break chunks and cheese. Next, beat
together 3 or 4 eggs and add about 1 cup of chicken or beef
stock or milk, 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder, a sprinkle each of
salt, pepper, seasoned salt, celery salt and for a change, I
also sometimes add some dill weed. Beat this mixture (by
hand) 'til well combined and pour it over the bread chunks,
cheese, onion and mushrooms and mix 'til all the bread is
coated with the moist mixture. Sprinkle the remaining
cheese (you can add more cheese to the topping if you like
and I often sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top, too) and
bake for approximately 1/2 hour (30 minutes) or until the
top and sides are golden brown and the stuffing is well
raised up in the dish. Serve in slices and top with gravy
or just leave it plain, whatever your preference is. This
is a really nice switch from the usual turkey stuffing and
it's sooooo good, enjoy!
